Actually Bouma scored his first NHL goal against Minny on Saturday. We have lots & lots of injuries, you guys should be able to handle this lineup fairly well.

I love how badly the media is twisting what Parise said to Chere.

What Parise said:

Parise told The Star-Ledger today that money will be a significant consideration when negotiations for a new contract begin, but his feeling about whether the Devils have a legitimate chance to eventually win a Stanley Cup will probably be the overriding factor.

“For me that’s probably the biggest thing,” Parise said. “The money is definitely important. That’s real life, let’s face it. I’m not going to say it’s not. That’s realistic. But most important for me is being competitive and having a chance to win the Stanley Cup.”

What the media sees:

Parise wants out of NJ to go to a cup contender and he is all about the money.

It's pretty damn funny, because all he said was basically that he wants to be paid what he should be, and that he wants to be on a competitive team, but we all know the media.

Look at Kovalchuk deal.

Solid NHL player, an up and coming player, a prospect, and a first the Devils can easily demand from another team. Or they can go with someone like Oshie, a really good up and coming player, plus a prospect, and a pick.
